Better Living for Garrison is pleased to announce the establishment of the Mike Gackle Memorial Grant. Applications are currently being accepted. Applicants must be designated by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Groups without such designation seeking to apply may enlist a fiscal sponsor that is a 501(c)(3) organization. Only organizations located in Garrison, ND that provide direct services to residents of Garrison are eligible to apply. The deadline for submitting an application is February 22, 2024 and a total of $5,600 is available for grant awards.

Better Living for Garrison awards 2023 Garrison Area Community Foundation Grants
Better Living for Garrison (BLFG) is pleased to announce that it recently awarded a total of $5500 in financial grants from the Garrison Area Community Foundation endowment to the following recipients:
SkyFest Over Fort Stevenson - $1500
St. Paul Lutheran Church - $1500
Garrison Fire Department - $1500
Ryder Community Food Pantry - $500
Camp of the Cross Ministries - $500
The Garrison Area Community Foundation was established by BLFG in 2011 and its endowment fund provides a method of receiving charitable donations and distributing annual grants to benefit projects or nonprofit organizations in the Garrison area. The Foundation has awarded over $55,000 in grants since its inception. The Foundation is affiliated with the North Dakota Community Foundation, which is a nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation under IRS code 501(c)(3) and North Dakota Law.
BLFG will also be presenting an additional grant in the amount of $5000 to Garrison Parks and Recreation for its outdoor pool renovation project from the Better Living for Garrison endowment fund administered by INSPIRITUS Community Health Foundation of Minot, North Dakota.
It is anticipated the Garrison Area Community Foundation will begin accepting applications for the 2024 grant cycle in September 2024 and this website will provide instructions on how to participate in the application process at that time.
